Highlighting American news
Using data collected from the American National Election Study, researchers at Australia’s Monash University and Britain’s Manchester University made a discovery:
White racists like guns.
Now that you’ve regained your composure from such a revelation, please continue reading.
The study ranked a person’s level of racism based on how participants answered questions. An example question asked, “How well does the word ‘violent’ describe most blacks?” The answers ranged from “extremely well” to “not at all well.”
Each person labeled a racist also displayed greater odds of owning a gun and supported concealed-carry laws.
We would like to thank both universities for clearing up the longstanding myth that racists didn’t like guns.
“Blacks are more likely to be shot, so we thought there must be something happening between the concept of being black and some whites owning guns,” Kerry O’Brien, a Monash researcher, said.
Right, so the researcher made the connection that black people are being shot more often so it must mean… white people are shooting them?
Fox News’ “The Five” host Greg Gutfeld was livid about the accusations. He even labeled the study as “nonsense” and “idiotic” after spouting statistics in a rant on his show.
“But what do you expect from [the university researchers], they’re probably in the KKK,” he said.
