Kanye West: “[Confederate flag] represented slavery; it’s my flag now!”

Kanye West was his usual Kanye Best at stirring up controversy this week.

Appearing as a Kanye Guest on 97.1 AMP Radio yesterday, West answered the question many people were asking: why is he wearing a Confederate flag on his clothing while on tour?

“So I made the song ‘New Slaves,'” he said. “So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag! It’s my flag now!”

It’s hard to find a meaning behind anything he said while he was beating his Kanye Chest. Doesn’t he know about the controversy behind the infamous Confederate flag?

“The Confederate flag represented slavery in a way,” he said. “React how you want. Any energy you got is good energy.”

Call it a bold move or a questionable marketing ploy, but one thing is certain: the man isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

Before ending his interview, West sent a message to his haters.

“Now what are you gonna do,” he said.

What’s next? SwastiKanyes? IllumiKanye? Occupy Kanye?
